
VISITING - things you need to know
SWIMMING
Local authorities do not recommend swimming at Ninety Mile Beach, due to the presence of dangerous rips. The nearest beach, patrolled during the summer months, is located at Woodside Beach.
WALKS
Walks in the area include a one kilometre return walk via the boardwalk, footbridge and a gravel track to 90 Mile Beach, the track winds through native grass and bushland, a relatively easy walk with a few moderate rises along the way, access to the beach may be difficult at times due to storm erosion of the dunes.
BIRD WATCHING
Nooramunga Coastal and Marine Park, is renouned for it's large and varied bird population, McLoughlins Beach provides many oportunities to view them in their natural habitat. Several endagered species are known to inhabit the area.
FACILITIES
McLoughlins Beach has a picnic shelter and outdoor tables, playground, public toilets, postal box and public telephone.
CAMPING
Areas suitable for camping are very limited and unprotected, the Jetty carpark provides overnight parking for a small number of RV's.
SHOPPING
The nearest shop is located at the Woodside Service Station, which stocks a small variety of food items, bait, gas refills. fuel and newspapers, Woolworths and Foodworks supermarkets, as well as a butcher, fish supplier, bakeries and takeaway food stores are located in Yarram.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Woodside Hotel, is located 11 km from McLoughlins Beach, a courtesy bus is available on Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights, to pick up and return patrons to McLoughlins Beach.
